If you are interested in finding out more, please contact us by phone, email or via the link on our 'Contact Us' page and one of our counsellors will call you within 48 hours for further details.
The initial appointment, and all future sessions will be 50 minutes in length and will take place at the same time each week. The initial session will give you and your counsellor an opportunity to get to know one another and for you to decide whether counselling is for you. We also offer shorter term therapy, with minimum of six sessions. The length of counselling will be reviewed on an ongoing basis between client and counsellor.
In the event that counselling with us is not suitable, we may be able to suggest more appropriate alternative agencies.
NMCA is committed to offering affordable counselling. With this in mind, there is a sliding scale of fees based on ability to pay.
The standard fee per session is £45. This may be reduced to £30-£35 for clients whose income is below average. For those who are unwaged or on a very low income, the fee is likely to be in the region of £25 per session. Should your financial situation change during the course of counselling, fees are subject to review.
In cases of particular financial hardship, and in exceptional circumstances, an individual client may be able to have a limited number of sessions at £20 (or below) subject to counsellor availability.
The fee for the initial consultation is £30. In order to confirm the appointment, we require this fee to be paid in advance. Cancellations are chargeable unless at least 48 hours’ notice is received at least one week in advance.
Currently, cheques and cash are the preferred method of payment.
